Experion has entered into an agreement with an Australia based client to develop a digital mobile platform for a complete spectrum of requirements in data capture and analysis. The client is a leading spatial data consultancy firm based in Melbourne. They use desktop and mobile-based solutions to capture field data, GIS mapping and high accuracy GPS examination in spatial data projects for local, State and Federal governments in Australia. As part of their digitization strategy, the client wanted to replace their current Windows tablet-based application with an Android-based mobile and tablet application.

The objective of the project is to develop a native Android application while retaining all the feature set of the existing Windows-based application. Experion’s team of architects and business analysts will work closely with the client to design and develop the tablet compatible Android application. The platform will be developed using native technologies with an SQL Server database backend.

The new application will capture field & spatial data and plot it into a geographical map of the location. Additional features in the pipeline include the ability to capture high-resolution photos (from the onboard camera as well as external cameras) and GIS information (from onboard GPS and external GPS systems). The new application is expected to improve the data collection process and increase the efficiency of field agents.
