Along with this, the client are keen to make another quantum leap by transforming the port business, by implementing a Port Management Information System, to provide the right information at the right time to all port stakeholders. The Port Management Information System will comprehensively cover all the existing operational and administrative activities of the port and provide a platform for reliable statistical and managerial information. Operational services, Strategy & Development and Security Services are the three key business units that will be using the Port Management Information System. To ensure security, only authorized users can get access to the system. The application will also provide management dashboards with KPIs (key performance indicators), which will enable business users to monitor business processes and the performance of key activities. To be built on a multi-tier web-based architecture, the solution will differentiate itself from other legacy Port Management Information Systems as it is based on open source and Amazon Cloud technology. The system will also feature seamless integration with other IT systems deployed in the port and offer real-time information exchange with external customers in the port community. Experion is currently working with the client’s functional and IT teams to document the requirements. To be developed in two phases, the Port Management Information System is schedule to be completed by end of 2014.
