Experion Technologies has signed an agreement with a US-based supply chain and warehouse automation solutions provider to re-engineer their existing desktop-based solution to a SaaS-based system. The client, with over 30 years of experience in offering on-premise solutions to leading manufacturing companies across the globe, will leverage Experion’s technology expertise to re-engineer the solution and for on-going development support for completing the product roadmap.

To meet dynamic business requirements from the market, most ERP solution providers have started migrating their services to the cloud entirely. This resulted in challenges while integrating the client’s existing solution with the latest SaaS-based ERP systems. The client wanted to forge a long-term partnership with an experienced IT firm to re-engineer its existing software to a SaaS-based platform that can integrate seamlessly with ERP systems. Having worked with enterprises and product companies across varied domains, Experion had experience in re-developing on-premise, desktop-based solutions to SaaS applications, and was selected by the client as the partner of choice.

Experion will commence the project with an in-depth evaluation of the existing desktop-based solution. The team will also conduct focus-group discussions and workshops with Subject Matter Experts and technical personnel from the client’s side to document the “as-is” and “to-be” states of the solution. This will be followed by technical design, where the technology components of the re-engineered solution will be architected to support a scalable, economical, and multi-tenant cloud solution. The integration components will also be designed for methodical integration with any number of ERP systems in the future. Development of the re-engineered solution will be carried out using Agile methodology, with incremental releases being provided to the client at the end of every 2-week sprint. The overall project is expected to be completed with a timeline of 6 months, in-line with the go-to-market plans of the client.
