Malayala Manorama, a leading news and publications house in Kerala, conducted a webinar on the topic – How did the second wave of COVID-19 affect the economy of Kerala?
Conducted on May 29th, the event was chaired by the Finance Minister, K N Balagopal, and moderated by K J Joseph, Director, Gulati Institute of Finance & Taxation.
At the event, Binu Jacob said, “The IT industry is perhaps the only one that has managed to thrive despite the pandemic. In the next five years, software export from Kerala will increase twofold – currently, the state’s software export is valued at $3 Billion with just 1.5 lakh employees in the sector. At the rate the workforce is increasing, we can increase this to $6 Billion.”
